Last week we got back from our vacation. We stayed in New Smyrna Beach and besides spending time there we also spent time in Daytona Beach and St. Augustine's Historic District.
The weather was hot and muggy but the pool was refreshing and the ocean and horizon were beautiful. While in Daytona we saw 100's of motorcyle riders there for the Biketoberfest. I never seen so many motorcycles, especially Harley Davidson bikes.
In St. Augustine dh and I went on the Ghost Tours of St. Augustine. We chose the walking tour because I felt it would be better than the riding tour. We walked by old historic buildings while the guide told us stories of what happened back in the 1800's with people dying and how their spirit may still be lingering even today.
We walked the Castillo De San Marcos one of the oldest remaining European fort in the United States. We strolled by the oldest school wooden school house in the U.S.A. and one of the oldest pharmacy. We stopped at two cemetaries and listened to more stories. I took several photos which I posted on my photo blog at www.photosbysatinrose.blogspot.com
I hope to post several other photos but haven't had the time because after getting home from vacation I had one day before I had to go back to work and I didn't feel like doing anything. While on vacation I made up my mind to resign from my job. I've been thinking about it for a while but clearing my mind on vacation made it clear to me that this is what I had to do. After 27 months there it was time.
Wednesday my first day off after resigning, felt very liberating. I started tackling some of the things that needed to be done after vacation like unpacking which I didn't do when we got back. I did several loads of laundry, I took care of some housework, I went through the piles of mail, paid some bills, made dinner and checked some of many email accounts. By the end of the day I was exhausted.
Today was another busy day. I may have stopped working outside the home but I'm sure working inside the home now catching up on things that have fallen by the wayside. Yesterday I caught up on some basic housework and today I tackled dh's closet and my closet by purging stuff I didn't want or didn't need anymore and reorganized them.
Tomorrow we get to see the little peanut, our grand daughter whom we have'nt seen for a whole month. I can imagine how big she must have gotten. Her mom told me she has the sniffles and I was worried it might be something more but hopefully it's not. I told her that if the baby gets worse to call me so I wouldn't pick her up and she can take the baby to the doctor.
So this weekend is going to be spent enjoying my grandbaby.
